August 18, 201311 yr comment_429956 .....they are used on several UK early cars.Actually, the very first UK cars didn't have them. They were used on almost all subsequent UK market 240Z and 260Zs though. August 18, 201311 yr Author comment_429983 The rear spoiler on the car is a stock UK market factory item, and is nothing to do with the 432. The rear spoiler in the pictures I posted has the flat part for the emblems and a bit more angled at the sides than the BRE, just like the 432 style 240Z spoiler. If its not the same one its almost identical. though the spoiler in the photos could be the 432 style and not what the euro 240Zs originally came with Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47212-what-kind-of-spoiler-and-air-dam-does-this-z-have/?&page=2#findComment-429983 Share on other sites
August 18, 201311 yr comment_429986 Despite what MSA's marketing department might want you to think, there is no such thing as a "432 specific" rear spoiler. The very first spoiler for the S30-series Z range was specific ( as factory stock fitment ) to the PS30-SB 'Fairlady Z432-R'. This design - with its two reinforcing ribs ( which collected water between them.... ) was very distinctive. The PS30 'Fairlady Z432' did not have this rear spoiler as stock equipment, but it was an extra cost option. The very same spoiler was also offered as an extra cost option on the other Fairlady Z models ( S30-S 'Fairlady Z' and S30 'Fairlady Z-L' ) which were sold during the same period. This rear spoiler was superseded by another - similar - design, but this time without the water-gathering ribs. They too had the flat sections on the rear surface on which the emblems could be mounted. This design of spoiler was used on UK and European mainland market 240Z models as stock factory fitment. The ribbed design was not. The rear spoiler on the yellow Nissan GB press car in the photos in the original post is the second, non ribbed, stock UK & European market type. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. August 18, 201311 yr comment_429987 The replica 'Euro' spoiler pictured on the yellow 240Z above is made by Fourways Engineering: Fourways Engineering Classic Sports Car SpecialistsThey have two versions available: just the front spoiler (a bolt-on) and the one piece valance + front spoiler pictured above. From what I've gathered, I don't think they'll ship to the States (don't quote me on that!), which is why I am picking it up on of each version in person during my trip to the UK later this September. August 18, 201311 yr comment_429988 HS30-H, are we talking about a highly revered vintage GT car or a semi classic type GT. I like the Datsun 240Z/S30 but makes me wonder on it's place as a collector car. I see plenty of publications that deal with classic car and little is mention on the Z. I see that you are in the UK, what is the position of the Z in the land that has so many cars that are view with great fame .:bulb: ( forgive my thread sabotage but it is related to the car and spoiler) Edited August 18, 201311 yr by guaro Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47212-what-kind-of-spoiler-and-air-dam-does-this-z-have/?&page=2#findComment-429988 Share on other sites

August 19, 201311 yr comment_430057 I've got a Euro front spoiler on my '72 that the original owner purchased & installed. Its functional, but I'm not in love with it & if anyone has a strong desire I'd be happy to sell it. August 20, 201311 yr comment_430129 So the front air dam that I have looks a little different than the original posting above, but still appears to be designed and made for the 240z based on the contours and the mounting brackets.. It is made of some form of rubber/foam and is attached to the lower valance by about 7 bolts. Below are some pictures and a YouTube video of the entire thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3joyC9o5co Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47212-what-kind-of-spoiler-and-air-dam-does-this-z-have/?&page=2#findComment-430129 Share on other sites
