I have an opportunity to purchase a T5 transmission from a 90s mustang very cheap. I was wondering if it will fab into a 72 240z with the stock L24? I'm looking at sometime in the future going to a small block V8 but not soon. I'm wondering about what bell housing I need and will the shifter be located correctly?:ermm:

The bell housing is different for a start and I am pretty sure the input shaft splines are different which means you would need to fit the mustang clutch disc in your pressure plate.

The bell housing is the hard to get item. Without it you need to cut and match bell housing, but if your in for a challenge, it is possible. I have seen a thread for the T6 done that way.

Thanks for the replies. After reading the info given I think $40 for the transmission is worth the investment. It does need rebuilt but he said the only problem he has is 2nd gear. I'm going to rebuild the whole thing. Thanks again
