I don't know why people insist on calling a Custom Car or Street Mod Car - fully restored. Custom, he'd be lucky to get anything near $10K. An actual bone stock - properly restored 73 510 2dr.... I don't think it would take long to sell one for $16K. A 71...perhaps, but the people I know seem to want one of the more limited production 73's.

FWIW,

On the other hand... you could perhaps buy this for $17.5K...

2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class for sale in Tampa, Florida >> 56022491 | GetAuto.com

An SLK32 AMG - with 60K original miles - one owner car. Only about 4000 produced between 2001 and 2004..

OR

2001 Porsche Boxster for sale in Cathedral Road, California >> 52980055 | GetAuto.com

2001 Porsche Boxter - 46K original miles

Lots of alternatives in that $16K to $18K range... competing for the buyers.
