September 10, 201311 yr Author comment_431467 Yes - contact info in the Classifieds is Current. It seems to me that Bill said the engine was already overhauled.. You can check that when you call him. I believe he said he had already stripped the undercarriage as well.. you can check that too. Go get it Zedyone... if nothing else you can make a good profit just selling off the parts...FWIW,Carl B. September 10, 201311 yr comment_431469 THat is the angle I want to play with the wife... the parts are like unicorn horns...But what I would really like to do is restore it for my 5 year old. Let him see it when he is like 7 and it can be a father son project! Hell I have learned everythign I would ever want to know about Z's. I have a ton of spare parts.I am going to email him tonight after I buy my wife a bottle or three of wine. September 11, 201311 yr comment_431500 Said the pot to the kettle!HAHAAHAHYou made me spit out my coffee on this one.Wife and I had a talk about this. She is saying what a rational person would say. You already have the same car. When are you going to have time to work on it. And the biggest question is this. What if the car is not complete? The true value lies in its early number, but if all the cool 69 parts are not there, then it will be darn near impossible to restore. Plus she pointed out that it will be at leat 5 years before I can have any time to do anything with it. She is talking logic, but I am wanting to buy with my heart.I will email Mr. Reagon today to ask some questions. September 11, 201311 yr comment_431530 That's too bad you missed out. Did someone on the site buy it? It would be nice to see its progress. As for restoring with out the early parts. Most could be replaced with later parts until suitable early parts could be found to take their place. IE steering wheel, front glass, rear hatch, vents, emblems, etc. I do hope it went to a good home and is not getting parted...Charles Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47377-must-go-hls30-00201-project/?&page=2#findComment-431530 Share on other sites
September 12, 201311 yr comment_431552 Pitty you missed out Zedyone. Thats the problem with my accountant. She keeps talking me out off it. Aah, if she didnt my garage would be so full of junk I wouldnt be able to move in it, let alone work on anything.I hope it went to someone that is planning to retore it and not just hack it up for a weekeind racer. Such a low number 69 deserve better than that.Chas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47377-must-go-hls30-00201-project/?&page=2#findComment-431552 Share on other sites
September 28, 201311 yr comment_432610 Is this car sold or not? I found a craigslist add posted today advertising this car, did the sale fall thru?CharlesSerial number 201 1970 datsun 240z, 1969, $ 3,900.00 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47377-must-go-hls30-00201-project/?&page=2#findComment-432610 Share on other sites
September 28, 201311 yr comment_432612 Here's the link to the craigslist listing: Serial number 201 datsun 240 z 1970 - $3999 Serial number 201 datsun 240 z 1970 - $3999 - $3999 (Eldon/lake area)I am selling my serial # 201 240z. it was actually built in 1969 making it in about the bottom 50 lowest serial numbered cars in the world! It needs full restoration but I have many new parts and half of the rust restoration completed ( engine compartment area is done and primered) I even have replacement quarterpanels new and the hatch jam area Nissan panel new. I also have new interior door panels and a headliner. I also have all the hardware replated. The SU carburetors are totally rebuild and replated so look like new. ( they alone sell for $1500 on eBay) I even have the 4 original tires, hubcaps and the stock wheels! I'm thinking around $7999 would get everything including the roticery, 8 cars worth of spare plated and sorted bolts and all my spare parts such as 1 spare engine and 2 spare transmissions. It also comes with the original Nissan microfiche and a microfiche viewer. I will give $500 to whoever sells it for me.It is towable. I have the rear drums off, 4 good tires on it and a towbar with a 2" ball size bolted to the front. I towed it from Dallas tx to here in central mo no problem. I'm selllling cause I'm moving and having to give up my 3000 sq ft building where it is stored. There are enough parts to build this car then sell off the extra parts and make enough money to fund the new parts you need. For instance there are 3 rear quarter panels (need 2) and 4 taillights (2) and 4 "dogleg" bottom front of the quarterpanel (need 0) and 5 sill panels (2) and 2 hatch interior plastic panels (need 1) and 5 rear side interior plastic panels (2) and 3 corner front blinker lenses (2) and 2 roof plastic panels (need 1) and on and on for pages! Many pictures can be seen at:http://www.datsunclassifieds.com/autos/datsun/240z/serial-number-201-1970-datsun-240z-1969-7-999.00-3817.html?highlightCash onlyNo trades Edited September 28, 201311 yr by lonetreesteve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/47377-must-go-hls30-00201-project/?&page=2#findComment-432612 Share on other sites
