Wheel offset

Hello all

I'm in the market for new rims for my lovely 280z. Can someone explain what offset is to me and how it affects rims? Yes I know I can use google - thank you - I'm hoping someone here will have experience with it. I'm looking at buying these XXR 532 Flat Out OS for my Z.
