It is the turbo model but the 2+2 is hard to find aftermarket parts i need quarter panels and the dash thing says i have a stop light out i checked all of them and none are bad im at a loss ive got the mauals trouble shot the system and nothing but ive had an 86 mr2 and i knew that car very well i just need a little help.

here's the panels, Datsun 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX & Mazda RX7 iCatalog - Black Dragon Auto, there's more out there. I would clean with electrical cleaner spray and dielectic grease all the bulb sockets. Mine were all green when I looked at first.

The procedure to check the sensors for the brake light warning starts on page EL-50. What were the voltages you read in performing steps 5 & 6?

I didnt have a multimeter so i just the the whole lets find the broken wire

A multimeter is not necessarily that expensive, and it is a very valuable diagnostic tool.

yea i know they're great I'm an electrician for the navy and i love them but i never got one myself but i think i found the issue there's a random wire in the back of the car between the brake lights with nothing in it i think that may be what is causing it im slowly learning this car and i love it definitely one of my favorites
