Coolant Again

I went ahead and took my car out for a drive today. Well it was fun for a little bit, at least until I opened my hood. I recently posted and was told that my head gasket was bad or my head was warped, due to a brownish slug in the coolant lines (being oil and coolant being emulsified, and that I should try to flush my system. I went ahead and tried. I let the water go through the system after the thermostat and had no luck. I cannot get any water to run through my manifold, no matter which side I run water in at. Does anybody know a way to unplug the coolant system. Or should I skip this step and start to look for a new motor.

If everything flows through the rest of the engine without any problems, then I assume it's just the intake manifold that clogged, correct?

If this is true you can do 2 things:

1) take a coat hanger and try to push it through the coolant line in the manifold (should be a straight shot right through to the other side). This should help break up/loosen any crud build up inside the line, then you can try to flush it some more.

2) Just bypass the manifold. I'm not running any coolant through my intake manifold right now and have not been for almost 6 months. Plus I know many people who do not. No adverse effects yet.

The coolant thru the manifold is for areas of extreme cold.KInda like a preheater.It does not perform a cooling function in that area.In warmer areas it can create a problem because you don't need the heat it supplies on a hot summer day.Mine has been by- passed since the late 70's.No problem.You might be better off by- passing than allowing that crud access to the important areas that really need cooling.
