He runs Miata Specialists (810 Arno St NE, 505/344-9560) and has done historic racing with Z cars.Thanks so much jmor! now that I'm registered here in the forum...the next step is finding other Z enthusiasts nearby...I appreciate the beta. ericg Posted October 23, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted October 23, 2013 I was able to track down the 2nd owner (I am the 4th) who had the car restored in the 80's. He sent me three dozen pics of the original restoration and is going to give me the original steering wheel which he had kept as a memento! He said he thought the later vented hood was better for overall ventilation and that the rear hatch vents were no good because they sometimes sucked in exhaust fumes.
