I am a wood worker as well as Z owner. This looks really cool. Think I'll order it.

One of the big problems with multiple hobbies as wood working, home renovation projects, my wife's kilns for glass fusing and Z show car is they demand different environments. Sawdust and nice paint on Z's don't mix well. Fortunately my new 800 sf garage allowed me to put in a dust collector system and somewhat isolate the car. Now just to move some of the wife's glass stuff out of my "man cave".....yeah, right

Off Topic - but - you too? I'm being forced to move on as well. I hate this!! My 8 year old Mac Pro runs perfectly fine - and does everything I need. But too many applications are "no longer supported" - - - It is kind of like getting "NLA" from Nissan... bummer..

Neat Tool - is there a thin rod - that can be attached - to push down in thinner area's or holes - to measure their depth?

Yes Carl. The thin rod can be seen on the leg of the tool. It detaches and connects to the middle sliding part. It is plastic so you can "whittle it down" or insert a metal thin rod.

Measurements were repeatable when I opened the box and raised it and lowered it 5 times on the kitchen table after nulling it to 0.0mm

It reads mm, inchs and fractions (when you are at exactly 1/16, 1/32, 1-23/64 etc.). When off a fraction it reads the decimal inches.

It is the same in Windows...I have been computing since the 70's and a lot of the fast short cuts that were evolved and put in Windows (from TOS, RDOS and DOS as well has from earlier versions of Windows) are now tossed by crappy programmers who are too thick to even know they existed let alone know what they did. It is like Windows is revised for dumb people by dumb people... another sore point is Google: It recently has been revised to give forced hits based on my location and local paid advertising....it used to be a great reference but now the first few pages are usually filled with retailer's junk. I was able to block it for a few moths but they have improved their methods this week. It is like going to the library and asking for a book on boats but they give you a pamphlet on boat cruises from your area. Sadly the world is not evolving and the MBA, sales, marketing, crooks, and drop outs have taken over this thing called the internet. I hope they can soon partition it into separate domains so that it is better organized.... wouldn't an all automobile related domain be cool to search ! End rant....

I completely agree about the evolution of "personal computing" and the "internet". I was on DARPA Net. in 73. {USAF Logistics}.

Cool! I read about DARPA Net. You were there in the beginning...I am in awe!!!!

I guess you see the same de-evolution as I do...at first I thought it was grumpy old man syndrome but when when you compare the thought and linguistic skills of "man on the street" TV interviews in the 50's and 60's to now, there is a considerable change.

I am 10-15 years behind you....I was first connected to the net in '88 through the local university but I used a lot of old HP and DEC computers in my first job that go back to the mid to late 70's. My first computing experience was PET and TRS's in 78-ish.

Good find......I'm a retired Union Carpenter, will probably pick one up for my projects
