first they remove the "+" operator from searches

then they kill the 10,20,30,40, 50, 100 search result returns per page (but keep the non-functioning slider)

then they get rid of the compact one click links to news searches and other tools by nesting on the 2nd page of a huge icon grid

then they turn up the local advertising in the hits as responses to searches

now they put crap in the top of explicit image searches as if I am a stupid idiot,,,, if I wanted to search for rottweiler or roti food I would search for it...where the hell do these moron coders come from?

It's Free!!!

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply.

The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

It isn't free... they make money. Give me Alta Vista.... or Google from 5 years ago oh yeah they killed both.

A search engine is not evolving,,, if it was there would be selection to help refine searches.... they had that and now have disabled it to give you what they think you want.

To me it is like Cannon and Nikon forcing a distributed load of smile detection filter on every camera they have produced.... not many photos at boxing matches or hockey games after that!

The beauty of software is how easy it is to implement choice (conditions)... the dingbat programmers are now forcing choices on us .... and taking away the tools of choice.

I think we are seeing the internet die right before us folks.

It may seem trivial but so were a few dudes in red coats.

Sorry for the rant but the "site:" prefix was the only tool I can use these days to filter though the heaps of junk on the net...now it is dumbed down.
