Posted November 24, 201311 yr comment_436744 I recently had my car painted, about 2 weeks ago, and not really all that good of a job.The main issue is that several hail damage dents in the hood (maybe about 20) were not fixed prior to painting. My question is can I use dry ice and/or a hair dryer on the new paint without damaging the paint job.Any other suggestions? Thanks. November 26, 201311 yr Author comment_436887 Yes, but I am not sure if this is acceptable on new paint? I will keep searching to see if it is mentioned.Should I wait 30 - 60 days? Thanks. November 27, 201311 yr comment_437016 It can't hurt to be cautious. I've heard also that newer paint cures very fast but is there a rush? Dry ice and a heat gun is about as hard a test as you can put paint through.Good luck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48021-dents-and-dry-ice/#findComment-437016 Share on other sites
November 27, 201311 yr Author comment_437017 Good point. No rush. Just fruistrating to have a new paint job and not be able to show off the car. I am going to wait at least 30 days and then try one spot.
