Contrasting headlight bucket?

Has anyone seen a z with the non-hood, non-fender part ( surface covered by the plastic cover) of the headlight bucket painted a different colour. Just thinking and wondering about ways of making an all white ZG theme a bit more interesting. I want to take blue down this road to a white zg but add something more.... maybe light grey like the gnose?

Grey sounds good - a light dove grey so as not to be a stark contrast, more of a shadow. I agree with you on not doing the panel between hood and bumper. Sounds like an interesting project.

Blue, I'm going to suggest something really low tech, go to the office supply store where they sell all kinds of different colours of construction paper, remove the headlight cover, cut the construction paper to fit the curve and re-install the cover. It will give you a good idea of the finished product. Also, you could try the adhesive vinyl that is used on the side of trucks for advertising, test fit with the paper on the back then stick down if you like it. If you ever decide to change it it just peels up.

For breaking up the white, so far I'm set on putting series 1 vents with red fill in the circles as well as red centres on the hubs.

Still thinking about red mesh on the BBS RS wheels to give a bit more colour. This would be sort of a compromise for red cherry blossom wheels.

I'm thinking that removing the side marker lights will make it look nicer with less break-up of the sides.

Here is the only coloured light buckets I could find to date, makes me think no for the red in the bucket:
