Posted December 5, 201311 yr comment_437422 Well my project is completely stripped down and ready for media blasting. I got a quote from a company that was anywhere between $900 to $1700 depending on how long it takes. Is this reasonable? What have some of you guys paid for sand blasting? I would buy one and do it myself but I dont have the space and dont really want to deal with the mess. December 5, 201311 yr comment_437424 You could buy a 2 stage compressor - media blaster - nice quality sand and knock it out yourself for the upper end of that budget. January 5, 201411 yr comment_439049 had mine done a few weeks ago, they used a plastic media that didnt wrap the sheetmetal, Did an awesome job but it was $950.00 for the body, hood, doors, hatch, cowl, inspection lids and few small parts. It's expensive but I highly advise taking it to a professional otherwise you will have a mess on your hands. Be careful using sand as it will warp Datsun sheetmetal. January 8, 201411 yr comment_439221 I spent about $2,500 on everything - but that was the body on a rotisserie, doors, hood, hatch, a ton of misc parts, plus epoxy primer on everything. He used a combination of media, mostly baking soda, but he used some other medias depending on what needed stripping. A little pricey, but I feel like I really got a great result when he was done.
