cjcn2549 Posted December 6, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2013 I discovered that the previous owner of my 1972 240Z replaced the gas tank with the wrong one,and am in need of the original . Does anyone have any ideas ,or better still, one for sale ?
Captain_Zeros Posted December 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2013 I've got a spare from a '73, but it's in Seattle.Shipping alone would probably cost more than sourcing one locally, however.
SteveJ Posted December 7, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 7, 2013 I sent a PM to Joe Travis (GeoJoe). He can put you in touch with John Williams. I'm guessing John has several.
cjcn2549 Posted December 7, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted December 7, 2013 Thank you for your help. I am trying to rustle bushes around here , and if you come up with anything Steve ,that would be great. As a last resort ,may I fall back on you ,Captain Zeroes, if nothing springs up shortly ? cjcn2549 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted December 9, 2013 PM sent. John has a few in various states of condition to pick from.I found a fuel tank and picked it up from a delightful man called Tom in Smyrna ;now I have to get it to Sims for a flush . However, now we are into hoses !And I may need help locating some of those. Does anyone know of anyone who has a Datsun 240Z Super Samuri in the US ?I used to have one in the UK that I never should have sold 35-40 yrs ago. And I am on the lookout again. SteveJ Posted December 9, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 9, 2013 For the filler hose, get it from a Nissan dealer. I don't have the part number handy, but it's still in the system. Some of the vent hoses are NLA. You'll need some fuel/oil grade hose to replace those.Look at my website on Z cars to find a bunch of helpful links.
