I just loaded firefox and a plugin to see who gets my data when I connect to CZCC.com... (in blue below) no wonder the site is slow.

Mozilla are Firefox so I guess they get their hooks in by default.

Google and Facebook are pigs..

Google grabs it eleven times (including doubleclick, gstatic, 2mdn)

Fbook twice and a horrible IRMWorld

imrworldwide.com is a domain used by Netratings Site Census which is an analytics company that is part of a network of sites, cookies, and other technologies used to track you, what you do and what you click on, as you go from site to site, surfing the Web. Over time, sites like imrworldwide.com can help make an online profile of you usually including the sites you visit, your searches, purchases, and other behavior. Your profile can then be exchanged and sold between various companies like imrworldwide.com as well as being sold to other advertisers and marketers.

LOL That is the future. I just loaded an extension in Chrome called Ghostery that blocks this stuff. That and adblock make browsing tolerable but it slows the "quality of experience". I just went from 7Mb/s copper to 50Mb/s optical internet connection but browing is the same due to the distance to the server and also due to the slowness of the browser and all of the ad blocking it does.

Hi - I'm not a computer geek , but I have a neat purchase that really works for unwanted ads

and maybe more ! It's called AdTrap - a box that plugs in between your router and modem .

I am now looking at the internet like it was the 90's again - NO ads or pop ups , just blank

spaces where they would have been . Clean pages with only the info you wanted , not the

rest of the crap ! $139 usd + shipping , self updating , no mess no fuss . They did have

shipping issues but no longer . I don't know what else it blocks such as sneaky tracking etc.

Guys, these links are supposed to be there because I put them there. ;) Without these links, this site would not exist. Please do not block the ads. Instead, please consider visiting the sponsors that we have to help pay for the server rental, renewal fees, software maintenance, and my coffee bill to keep my eyes open late nights while I fight spam. None of these services are malware or harmful to you at all. Consider looking at the other sites you browse and you'll see our site is pretty good.

What you consider an unwanted is actually something that is wanted and necessary to keep things moving. FYI, I've tried to keep the ads very classy and small as possible. Other car-forum sites are selling out and putting huge double-block ads on the top, spamming your email, selling your information and doing other things behind the scenes that you don't want to even consider. I have resisted this in order to keep this place looking as good and clean as possible and to protect our membership base.

Our only external links are as follows:

- Google Adsense

- Google Analytics

- Facebook Login Share (only if you use a shared login with Fb)

- Datsun Classifieds (this is our sister site)

- Doubleclick (an Adsense partner)

If you are seeing other links, then you should check to see if you have a toolbar or any extras running. For instance, in Blue's example above, he has something called Thirdparty Mozilla. This is a toolbar or some kind of extra put into his browser.

Anyway, next time you see ad blocker options, please consider switching it off and checking out our sponsors. Besides, what's life without cookies? :bunny:

PS: If you absolutely don't want the ads, you can become a gold star member. While the gold star doesn't shut off all the ads, it will disable some of the smaller things. I'm working on finding a way to disable some of the other ads for gold members but it's a work in progress.

Blue, you may want to double check to be sure your ad blockers aren't causing these links. I know for sure that I have not added any links to mozilla or imrworldwide here.

I'm with Mike on this one.

Having a few ads helps pay the bills, just like on TV or radio, and if you learn how to only visit web sites that would go along with your purchasing (or dating?) preferences, then you'll see more ads that you might actually not mind, and Mike will get some funds to keep this website going.  Yes, it takes a few extra seconds, but you've got 86,400 of them every day, so a few won't hurt you.
