is it just me or is this guy on crack?? 700 dollars for this set up.

calipers remaned= 56.99

power stop slotted rotors= 79.99

brake pads = 46.99

hardware kit= 6.99

spacers= get your own made for about 75.00

buy them from a Z source= 150.00

now if you get your spacers made =355.99

if you buy them from a source= 430.95

what makes his set up so special to rate 700 buy it now price am i missing something

I just sent a question to the seller, asking for details of what he is offering. If he responds (which I doubt) I'll post the reply.

I think he's an "eBay Miner", digging for gold.

He's really not that high considering they are vented rotors with something other than the Toyota calipers. They look almost like Porsche calipers or some type of aftermarket (Wilwood, Outlaw or what?).

It may be expensive but it sure looks nice. Not that I'd buy it wouldn't have the money personally. Especially since it's in US dollars conversion rate would kill me.:classic:

I think it's totally worth it. What's wrong with making a profit? Some of us are in business to do so. the difference between $430 and $700 gets a lot smaller if you figure in:

The 'core' of the calipers.

20-30% profit.

The elimination of R&D. How much is "Hmmm, I wonder if this will work?" worth?

Not to argue the point, but who says this clown knows anything about what he's selling? Does he have a reputation for being a "brake guru". That's a mighty big assumption to make, especially on eBay!

There isn't anything wrong with profit, but I think there's room for interpretation as to what is fair and reasonable profit regarding a difference of $270 on a $700 sale. One would suspect that a vendor selling same or similar for $430 isn't doing it as a charity event and would make a profit at that price point. to me that makes the offer for $700 far less attractive. Of course, I'm not the "average" fool buying anything that is offered on eBay.

Well that's what E-bay is all about it's an Auction site and he will only get $700 if someone is willing to pay that. So we can let the "average fools" buy it.

If that isn't an aluminum caliper then the price is way too high...

The link I posted has a four piston aluminum caliper kit for 650..

The Toyota vented rotor upgrade is only 450 for the complete kit...

Looks like the seller has the same "big brake" set up for sale again, only now his price has dropped to $450 with a "Buy It Now" of $500!!! (down from the previous starting at $600 and Buy It Now of $700)

If it is still worth selling at these prices, one must assume that we were correct in our statements that the first auction was WAY OVERPRICED in spite of the protestations of some that the poor fellow needed to make a reasonable profit.

Looks to me like it was an un-reasonable profit margin!

The seller also seems to have changed his eBay name within the lst 30 days.
