January 8, 201411 yr comment_439218 POR-15? Ehhh... I'd bet Gary will put primer sealer and that is all. I've known way too many who have found rust in panels sealed with POR and the likes.Herman, stop finding rust and drive the damned car! :-) wow......the POR-15 I have seen is really nice and efficient steel protection. Sorry to hear of your POR-15 issues Irregardless, it will be fixed, and Sacramento is far enough inland to keep the salt air off of her. Can't want to see this car done....color is sweet and it looks really straight. ~Joe Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48284-got-a-suprise-after-i-got-my-260z-freshly-painted/?&page=2#findComment-439218 Share on other sites

January 10, 201411 yr comment_439374 There's a company called PM industries in NJ. That makes chassis primer and paint that is way better (IMO) than POR-15. Way thicker, stronger, and CHEAPER! They give you full data test sheets with it. They even make engine bay coatings that are totally chemical resistant. The stuff is a type of bridge paint or something. I painted the dump bed on a retired VT state plow truck. They hauled sand and gravel in it and it held up well. The bed was almost shot before I started. I needle scaled it, primed and painted. The owner was very happy. I think it was under $500.00 in materials for the whole job. Just a thought. they're on the interweb. JR. The shop where my car is at is pretty amazing and I gave Gary full "carte blanche" to do what is necessary to make my car back to what it was back in the day and to last me into the future. I trust him fully and to get things done for me. If need be, I could always look into more sealers in the future.
