Posted February 23, 200322 yr comment_27660 There is only thing that I don't love about my car. It is an absolute impossibility to get in and out of the thing gracefully!!!!! Is there anyway to raise the seat? Of course then, the steering wheel would probably be in the way. Any ideas?? February 23, 200322 yr comment_27661 I know what you mean but it's a sports car deal with it. I imagine racing seats will make it more of a task . Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4840-just-call-me-grace-ha/#findComment-27661 Share on other sites
February 23, 200322 yr comment_27662 Stop wearing those mini-skirts and stilletto heels... Yes, you can raise it a bit, if you look there are plastic spacers under the seat already, or there should be anyways, you could always find another set of them and add them to what is there now.... Or you could have someone take the seat out and add a locknut to the mounting stud so that you could adjust the seat up and down, by using a nut on the top and bottom, you could adjust it to where you wanted.... Beware, you'll be making some really strange contortions to reach those mounts...Just make sure the neighbor doesn't have a camera in his hand if you do it...:devious: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4840-just-call-me-grace-ha/#findComment-27662 Share on other sites
February 23, 200322 yr Author comment_27666 Great!! I will try that. If I can just get it raised maybe an inch and a half that would be much better. Thanks!!!!!!!!! February 23, 200322 yr comment_27668 Doubt if you will get an inch and a half as the mounting bolts on the rails aren't that long, but you might get 1/2 inch. February 24, 200322 yr comment_27686 Bonnie:You CAN get the seat higher, but as it's already been pointed out, you're limited to the length of the bolts that hold the seat down to the frame. You might have better luck putting some sort of spacer between the rails and the seat bottom itself. Especially if you need 1-1/2". Have you considered getting a hard foam cushion?2¢ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4840-just-call-me-grace-ha/#findComment-27686 Share on other sites
February 24, 200322 yr comment_27696 The straps on the bottom of your seat might need to be replaced if they are stretched and old. This will give your seat less of a bucket feel and raise you up a bit. You can get the kits just about anywhere. The one that comes to mind is sold by datsunrestore.com.
