gundee Posted October 30, 2015 Share #25 Posted October 30, 2015 I can attest to linkage bind on my Mikuni's as well. Worked all Summer adjusting linkage, changing a 280Z firewall link rod, different lengths of individual carb link rods. All trying to free up bind and using better linkage mechanical advantage.I finally got it to work and return to idle position good enough to remove the addedreturn spring that just created more pedal effort. gundee Posted October 30, 2015 Share #28 Posted October 30, 2015 Also, I have a 280Z pedal that I noticed has a heavier return spring.I thought thats a good idea but when I started to swap it out I foundout the ball socket on the top of pedal does not line up with with the240Z linkage. Hole in the firewall on the 280 must be different.Thats as far as I went.
Zedyone_kenobi Posted October 30, 2015 Share #29 Posted October 30, 2015 What side is the round rod end on the gas pedal you have lumens? I just bought a new gas pedal from Ebay the guy said was from a 240Z. I cut mine off to run the throttle cable (like a moron) so I need it back. Can you take a picture of the gas pedal? The pedal along with some spare parts is at the garage I put the Z away for the winter. When I get back from work Saturday, I will try to drive out there and bring it home to photo. madkaw Posted November 4, 2015 Share #33 Posted November 4, 2015 Might look at the first page of the Triple Mikuni Thread. I made the linkage piece between the firewall and the carbs. Either I got lucky or made it right, but it's been flawless. Real good pedal feel and never hangs up, better than stock SU's.I feel your pain with those annoying items that take away from the ride!
