Posted February 1, 201411 yr comment_440800 Ok, so I decided to replace the key cylinder.. Wanting a new set of keys i could than get my locks rekeyed for. I went with an locksmart key cylinder that I got from autozone. I had to do some altering to the part (mainly trimming the pivot point to reach the full rotation that the original had). I got everything back together the best of my knowledge. I havent slapped it in the car yet. My question is the switch here.. Right now it seems to be a closed circuit.. does that look about right? Is it suppose to move open? February 1, 201411 yr comment_440811 Will this mean you have one key fits all? Something I only dream of. Mine has 4 keys I have seen people remove the tumblers and reposition the pins in Opels. Is that also possible with the Zed? At least the doors and hatch would then be the same. Goodluck with it Chas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48469-replaced-ignition-key-cylinder-trying-to-figure-out-how-the-rotation-switch-works/#findComment-440811 Share on other sites
February 1, 201411 yr comment_440820 go to a locksmith they can actually rebuild these. Problem is you need to go to an old locksmith because the kits aren't available anymore Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48469-replaced-ignition-key-cylinder-trying-to-figure-out-how-the-rotation-switch-works/#findComment-440820 Share on other sites
