Posted February 20, 201411 yr comment_441936 Hello, I recently purchased a urethane bumper. The inlet part is very wavy, I was wondering if anyone knew any way to straighten it out. Thanks, Han Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48606-straightning-urethane-bumper/ Share on other sites
February 20, 201411 yr comment_441938 A little heat with a heat gun to slightly soften the piece, then flex and push on the piece to get it back into shape. Just be very careful not to use too much heat or you will distort the part. February 20, 201411 yr comment_441942 If you can sandwich the defect between two straight pieces of wood or metal and clamp it down- then apply heat gun Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48606-straightning-urethane-bumper/#findComment-441942 Share on other sites

If that happens just heat push into the heated are and cool till the part is back into shape. Kind of like when you shrink metal with heat. February 21, 201411 yr comment_441973 Which spoiler is that? I'm about to buy one from JEGS, it's a Xenon #3125, and was curious about the urethane being wavy. Seems like I read more and more about that problem. Thanks for any advice. February 22, 201411 yr Author comment_442031 I don't have a part #, but it was listed as "Urethane Airdam with brake cooling ducts". Hope this helps.
