Posted March 3, 201411 yr comment_442637 i bought my z around Christmas. i am about to join the army and i don't have the heart to let it sit even longer. after i bought it i changed the oil, spark plugs, plug wires, disruptor cap, rotor, points, fuel filter and ignition coil. now she is running strong. all the seals need to be redone. the previous owner told me the car was side swiped on the passenger side and backed into in a parking lot on the driver side. i was told there was no frame damage. the biggest rust problem is the passenger floor pan. the spare tire area has a bit of rust due to the dry rotted hatch seals. the frame rails have little to no rust. all matching numbers. l24 with early su carbs.list of small issues:clock does not workseats are rippeddash is crackedboth outer door handles snapped( i forgot i locked the driver side, my friend tried to open the passenger side)previous owner lost the radio face.link to 42 pictures: 1972 Datsun 240z Photos by DJspiffyFISH | Photobucketi was just wondering what i should ask for this before i post it.i appreciate your opinions, thanks. March 3, 201411 yr comment_442639 I think you should get on Ebay and order some parts, Door handles etc, then clean the car up a bit and then try to sell it. Little things like you're talking will knock a lot off the price when you're trying to sell. Don't worry about the clock. You want it to be easy to drive away, w/o giving a lot of incentive to knock down your price. As for the accident damage, All that depends on how well it was fixed. You should try the magnet test to see how thick the filler is. Buyer beware, but Running 240's are often starting in the 3500's. Depends on your market, look at what's around you and price accordingly. March 3, 201411 yr comment_442647 Depends on the market... If you spend $200 bucks to be able to get $500 more for the car, is that worth it? Depends on your time and willingness. It's a shame to sell your car, but you said you were leaving, is it better to let it sit? If you do, at the least, put some StaBil or other fuel preservative in there. that way you don't get a mess when you come home. Thank you for serving, btw...
