Posted March 7, 201411 yr comment_442905 Yesterday while washing my '73 I found a small hole in my Cibie HCR (rock). These headlights were installed by the P.O. a long time ago. Are they still available? The light still works, but it won't when water gets in. I would like to replace the unit with one the same or at least similar enough so you can't tell the difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/ Share on other sites

March 8, 201411 yr comment_442957 there's also a single unit listed on ebay right now, but the seller has dyslexia (be it temporary or permanent). search "cibie headlight HRC"... $150 or make offer. March 8, 201411 yr Author comment_442974 Thanks, guys. I might pay $150 for one light, but I really doubt it...I can get new replacement of both for less. I sent Daniel an email, but have yet to hear back...early days, yet. Granny, I sort of like the attitude on danielsternlighting...his business, his game, but thanks for the heads up. Now how and why did Daniel get into the headlight business? I remember him from "Diner" Shreevie the music expert, and as the narrator of "The Wonder years".Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/#findComment-442974 Share on other sites
March 10, 201410 yr Author comment_443057 Hi all, Well I heard from Daniel Stern lighting...Daniel himself. Very helpful, but $79.99 for one headlight w/o a bulb seems a bit steep. Do any of you have a spare Cibie light hiding out in your parts bins? It seems that there are a plethora of H4 lights out there some more expensive than others. Any experiences with "Autopal, Hella, etc.? H4lights offers a set from "Autopal" for $90 w/ bulbs. MSA and Black Dragon have similar offers. I'm not trying to cheap out, but are there less expensive alternatives? I don't really drive all that much at night, but I don't want two different brands of lights. I guess I'm just fussy that way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/#findComment-443057 Share on other sites

Then use those proceeds towards the purchase of a matching pair.Send me a PM if interested.Hope this helps,George Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/#findComment-443073 Share on other sites
March 11, 201410 yr Author comment_443158 Hi Doc, PM sent. FYI, Daniel Stern was very helpful even when I wasn't going to buy anything from him. He sent me an Amazon link to some affordable (for me) headlights which he made no money on. Class act IMHO. This should close out this thread.Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/#findComment-443158 Share on other sites
March 11, 201410 yr comment_443162 Thumbs up for Daniel Stern. Now to get him interested in Z cars. He probably could afford a good one. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48713-broken-cibie-headlight/#findComment-443162 Share on other sites
