Sean240Z Posted March 19, 2014 Share #13 Posted March 19, 2014 Speaking of heat shields, it seems to me that my right foot gets kind of warm in the summer when driving in the city. I think it's because the exhaust pipe runs near the body next to the gas pedal. I was thinking of wrapping the exhaust tube in that area with a heat-wrap. Should that help cool things?I'm really not a fan of wrapping exhaust pipes as it holds moisture against the pipe, increases the heat of the pipe itself and increases the rate of deterioration of the pipe. To decrease transmission tunnel heat I installed Thermo-Tec heatshield on my exhaust system. (http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/exhaust-s30/48907-reducing-cabin-transmission-tunnel-temperature-thermo-tec-heat-shield-exhaust.html). The heat shield works extremely well, significantly decreasing transmission tunnel temps.
