madkaw Posted March 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2014 You might try the Chicago z club. I pretty far south in Indiana or I would be glad to help out. That is probably a 3 hour drive for me.
moonpup Posted March 14, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted March 14, 2014 Thanks Steve, if I can't find someone here, I'll give that a shot.

Walter Moore Posted April 1, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2014 Sorry, Mapquest puts that at 2.5 hours from my house, one way. I don't think I can make that work anytime soon.

moonpup Posted April 1, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted April 1, 2014 No, it's an older gentleman that had a small motorcycle dealership back in the day and has some leftover nos parts. Trouble is, as he puts it, he still lives in the stone age and doesn't use a computer and has no easy way let me see what he has. Say's he has a couple shelves of parts but doesn't have a list and doesn't seem to want to put one together. Say's it'd be better if I could come in and check it out. Since south Texas is more than 2.5 hrs away , my only shot is trying to find someone close by that would be willing to help out.
madkaw Posted April 1, 2014 Share #9 Posted April 1, 2014 Well I am going to be driving with in 10 miles of there this week-end. I am taking my son to junior days at Michigan University. If I was by myself, it would be a no brainer. Not sure if the wife could be persuaded to make any detours--ESPECIALLY for bike parts--. If you want to try and persuade me(my wife really) to make this stop-you can try. Iknow the possibility of a gold mine is killing you. I could tell you a funny story about bike parts and Decatur Indiana. PM me-I can always say "sorry -no go"
moonpup Posted April 1, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted April 1, 2014 Don't worry about it Steve.... since I really don't know if it's going take just 10 min. or 10 hrs. to document the stuff, I'll need someone that doesn't have any time constraints. Plus I'd need to hook up the owner & volunteer so they could make whatever arrangements for showing the parts. Don't even know if he's available this weekend. Thanks, Mike
