Posted February 26, 200322 yr comment_27947 Can anyone tell me if they have installed a strut bar and if the improvement was noticeable? I am considering this with my '71.It seems that you could almost make a set yourself.I have not looked into the benefits and was looking for some "hands-on" experience....Thanks,Brian Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4879-strut-bars/ Share on other sites

March 2, 200322 yr comment_28335 I have used both front and rear stut bars on all of my Z's and would recomend them to anyone who "drives" their Z. Unfortunatly with my new camber plates I will have to come up with a new set of strut bars. If anyone is interested, I have a set of MSA 240Z strut tie bars (F/R). They list at around 130 ea new, and they were only on my car for a few months. If anyone is interested in them let me know. I could part with them for about half the cost of a new set. March 2, 200322 yr comment_28347 Ok, Stut bar is now on the front and I have to say it has made an appreciable difference to the handling. It does feel much firmer, although I've only thrown it around the back streets.Remind me after the March race and I'll tell you for sure, but so far so good :classic: Cheers,R. March 6, 200322 yr comment_28788 I don't have any strut bars, but I did fashion up a body brace that doubles as a harness mounting bar. It ties into the body just in front of the rear struts. It does stiffen the body some but I haven't really pushed the car hard enough to tell how much. I will within the next month or so. If anybody would like me to make them one, let me know. I haven't worked out any prices yet. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4879-strut-bars/#findComment-28788 Share on other sites
March 6, 200322 yr comment_28796 Strut braces front and rear absolutely make a difference. Pitch the car into a corner and instead of the body-tweaking surges you used to get, you get this flat-tracking, predictable, 'you can tell exactly when it is going to let go' feeling. And if you let if 'let go' it slides nice and flat and the throttle controls everything.Best $200 I ever spent.steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4879-strut-bars/#findComment-28796 Share on other sites
