Lug stud issues

Hey mates

A few weekends ago I went over to the local tire shop to have my brakes bled - basically redid my front discs and needed the air out. Well they pulled all four tires off and bled the brakes per usual. When they were putting the wheels back on they said one of the lug studs was in very poor shape and should be replaced soon. Since I don't feel like pulling the bearings off I'ved lived with the wheels on. Well it has come time to do the rear drums - as well...its metal on metal..or very close to it. I'm afriad that if I pull the lug nut off the one lug nut that is in "poor shape" it will snap. Two questions.

1. What is your opinion on what I should do?

2. Is it safe to drive with three lugs in the rear? (yes I know dumb question, but I really don't have a weekend to pull the rear hub out and do the bearings - since I'm already in there).

Thanks

Jan
