Posted April 3, 201411 yr comment_444951 I want to replace the following parts in my 1972 240z:- Water Temperature Sender Kit with retainer nut-Water Pump-Fan Clutch with plastic blade-Fan Belt-Water Pump Bolt KitI normally purchase my parts from Black Dragon Auto but after contacting them i have been informed their parts are aftermaket parts. I tried MSA but its a hassle with them and prices are quite steep. For these quality genuine nissan parts where should i go? April 3, 201411 yr comment_444957 Do you have the link for the online catalogue? If so, look up your part numbers and then check with Courtesy Nissan Parts - courtesyparts.com to see if the part numbers are still available. Enter the p/n in the search box to check. if not, you may have to be satisfied with aftermarket items. You don't say what your problem with MSA is but I've had nothing but good experience and excellent customer service from them. Many of their items are actually genuine Nissan parts and you can expect some markup for their profitability. April 4, 201411 yr Author comment_444998 I have sent 2 e-mails to Courtesy parts and have not yet received any reply regarding these parts. Do i really need to purchase original genuine Nissan Parts or will i be alright buying aftermarket for this cooling section of the car? April 7, 201410 yr comment_445221 Most likely stamped. I got what might have been the last cast one from Courtesy last year. April 7, 201410 yr comment_445259 Does that have the stamped impeller or cast?I'm not too sure what that means but I believe it's cast? Here's a picture of the impeller, AISIN WPN-013 - Auto Parts Network Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48940-original-genuine-nissan-fan-clutch-and-blade-water-temp-sensor-sender/#findComment-445259 Share on other sites
April 7, 201410 yr comment_445261 Yep, that's cast. Cheap water pumps usually have a thin stamped impeller like this: They tend to wear out quicker, so I've heard. April 7, 201410 yr comment_445289 Sometimes the image on the website is not what you get, and sometimes they tell that somewhere on the site. Not sure why the stamped impeller would wear out faster, since it's usually a leaky seal followed by bearing failure. Certainly the cast impeller has nicer blades on it.
