I am in the process of restoring a 280z but the hatch support hinges rusted off. I will be welding in new hinges and I was wondering if someone could give me the dimensions of where the hinge is located on each side. Approximately how many inches from the bottom and the top of the rear hatch area.

I don't know about the 280Z, but on my 240Z the hatch support welds broke off the body, but it was pretty easy to see where the broken welds were, I just lined up the broken welds and drilled and bolted it in place.

I am missing a chunk of where the latch should be. I was hoping some could just measure one to give an approximate distance of where to weld the hatch support hinge.
