Weeks up! How's it running?

Sent from Canadia

Unfortunately, I threw my back out this week so I couldnt get much done. Getting old sucks. Nonetheless my thermostat housing and hoses are on backorder anyway. So hopefully soon. Till then i'm doing little odds and ends like antenna, emblems, and stuff like that.

oooohh.... sorry to hear about the back!

i've been through that twice, no fun - and always seems to happen at the absolute worst time.

i had been building a bike for 6 months and finally got the bodywork back from the paint shop, stayed up till 2:00 am in the garage putting her together, all ready to ride. next morning i bent down to pull on a sock and my back froze up. couldn't barely walk for 2 weeks, over a month before i could even think about throwing a leg over a bike - and in the middle of summer with that thing just begging to be taken out on the twisties!

take care of yourself, stretch every night - we want to see you finish this project!

Two back surgeries '85 (forcing my retirement from the Fire Dept.), '91 (putting bottom paint on a 42' sailboat), two trips to the E.R. in the last several years. I feel your pain, Matt. Don't try to come back too soon, no bending over the engine compartment, and NO twisting (stay out of the interior) or you will not be a happy camper...ask me how I know. Just take it easy for a few days and allow the spasm go away. Use that time to plot and scheme. Take care.

Cheers, Mike

Thanks for the concern guys! I'm doing a lot better this week, about 80%. I'll be taking it easy for awhile.

I got a few things done this week. Mostly little random stuff, still waiting on some parts for my cooling system so I can button that up. They should be here next week.

Ordered all new OEM emblems. I told myself I would wait to put these on last but I coudnt help myself. They look so good.

Also installed a new antenna. I may refurbish the original power one down the road.

I had to do another batch of plating so I just gave them all of my original hardware to be replated. There were some nuts and bolts that just didnt look "factory" enough for me so I will replace some here and there. Like the strut tower nuts were bugging me. The factory nuts are 14mm and the Fastenal ones I bought were 17mm. I wont replace everything, just the ones that bug me.

I also started on my fuel system. I originally was going to use a Fuelab filter but decided it was going to be a bit overkill so I just got a new factory replacement and painted it black.
