Sent from my HP Slate 7 Plus using Classic Zcar Club mobile app Thanks, yeah I didnt like the way the provided black trim looked. The chrome classes it up a little bit
rossiz Posted May 20, 2016 Share #579 Posted May 20, 2016 does look nice - the black rubber trim doesn't sit perfectly and the edge doesn't keep a nice straight line. i'm impressed you got the door trim to go around the sharp front corner, did you use heat? HaZmatt Posted May 20, 2016 Author Share #580 Posted May 20, 2016 Yes, that was the tricky part. Just used a heat gun to make it more pliable.
dmorales-bello Posted May 20, 2016 Share #581 Posted May 20, 2016 Excellent idea with the chrome door trim for the covers. Easy, simple, looks so much better!
rcb280z Posted May 20, 2016 Share #582 Posted May 20, 2016 And you have to look hard to see where the 2 ends meet. Nice job!

sweatybetty Posted May 22, 2016 Share #585 Posted May 22, 2016 those covers do look nice. how are they attached to the car? i would like to use some but i dont want to drill any holes.
rossiz Posted May 22, 2016 Share #586 Posted May 22, 2016 the kit i got provides two options: some double-stick tape and wide clips (like hazmatt shows) or smaller clips with sheet metal screws. i started with the stick-on system and mine didn't stick - the covers aren't a perfect fit (slight warp) so they put constant, light pressure on the adhesive which pulled them off. i then went to the drill-in method and they've been fine since. i am considering doing the door-trim trick now though, as the brightwork would look nice on my dark green paint. Just buy the cheap headlight covers, throw away supplied black trim, buy chrome door edge trim from auto store and install!

Yea like Rossiz says, they are 3 tabs that use double sided tape to attach them to the light bucket. I haven't had any issues with them coming off yet.
