April 24, 20159 yr comment_468445 You mean the eibach spring numbers I assume... From my notes they are part numbers 6303.002 for the rear, and 6303.001 for the front.I can check my springs tomorrow for you to verify. April 25, 20159 yr Author comment_468514 Worked on my parking lights today. I needed to extend my parking light harnesses about 18" to reach my stock plugs. Soldered all the connections. Heat shrink tubing over all connections Rewrapped and wire loom installed Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49193-my-datsun-280z-rustoration/?&page=36#findComment-468514 Share on other sites
April 25, 20159 yr Author comment_468515 So I've always had some issues with the turn signal and headlight switch. Headlights wouldn't always turn on, turn signals were intermittent and it would always feel clunky. I tried to squirt a bunch of white lithium grease into the mechanism but didnt really help.So I decided to tear them apart and rebuild them. Turn signal switch removed from column. Pretty nasty Disassembled Parts all cleaned up And the culprit....contacts had a bunch of carbon build up. A little sand paper took care of that. New lithium grease and re-installed everything. April 25, 20159 yr Author comment_468516 Next I disassembled the headlight switch The headlight switch contacts are all dirty as well. Cleaned up Re-installed everything and the switches all work like new now! It was a lot easier than I thought, just takes some time and you have to be really careful taking things apart so you don't lose any small parts. April 25, 20159 yr comment_468526 Great pictures. That really helps me understand the process and what the results should look like. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49193-my-datsun-280z-rustoration/?&page=36#findComment-468526 Share on other sites
April 25, 20159 yr comment_468528 Yet another nice job Matt! Now, to make those re-worked switches last, are you going to install Dave's relays & harness upgrade (MSA sells it)?You can adapt the 280 headlight plugs to it & will really eliminate the high current thru the switches which is what kills them over time. A project I will be doing this summer.
