Well I am on my way so far of starting the restoration of my original #s matching 240z. I havent been on here in some time but today I got off work early and started the engine to make sure it was worth saving. The car over all is in good condition. The engine and trans are almost new. The car was a old restoration but the guy that did the restoration passed away right after it was completed! I still have the original registration sticker that wasn't even put on the plate yet. The bad thing is after he passed someone left it set outside. We all know what happens. So it has no floors and some surface rust here and there but I think I can save this car. I haven't got the title transferred over yet. I know I know im lacking big time but its been signed and notarized already all I have to do it get it switched over to my name. If I can get it switched over then I guess I part it out :(

Here is a video of him running.

Ruffy,

Watching your video brought back memories of hearing my Z run for the first time. I estimated the engine hadn't run in 5-10 years, but after replacing a few wires and filling up the carb bowls, it fired right up! Hopefully the title transfer goes well and you can begin restoration.

2 things are very ironic about your story. First is mine also hasn't been ran in a good 10 years. I did start it last year but was only for 1 min. Second ironic thing is your name. My name is also Robert S Liao.

Robert,

Another thing we have in common is we're fairly close in age, but we both bought our Z's before 40 years of age. People can't say I bought my car because of a midlife crisis. :) I used to go by my middle name in my late teen's and early 20's, and eventually went back to Robert. Sometime after that I started signing everything "Robert S". Anyway, here's a short video of my car running on just fuel in the carb bowls, which is why it eventually cuts out:
