when i turn off car the charge light on dash stays on. my battery is dead in the mourning . battery is good. any ideas

short in alternator

The diodes can short on the alternator. The diode pack can be replaced but I don't know if that is often done nor if you have to take the alternator apart to replace them.

Find a good shop that can rebuild your alternator.

A bad voltage regulator can cause this to happen, as well.

Look for a voltage leak or lamp that doesn't go out. Look at your glove box and the engine bay light to make sure they are off.

My glove box light switch had been pushed back and didn't go out. Over a couple days, battery was too low to start. Bent the mount back out, and no more problem...
