Recommendations for flooring pad

I like the idea of putting in some floor insulation, but I'm not sure I like the idea of butyl... If I ever have to take that stuff out for any reason, isn't it going to be an enormous PITA?

Peels right off actually, even after at least 2 years of being installed. Think silly putty consistency, not epoxy

I found a dense closed-cell foam, came in 1/8" thickness, cost me $100 for the roll but I got enough do 4 or 5 Z's. I put it under my carpets and behind every panel. I also used cheap butyl for deadening, and I have the least amount of road noise of any S30 I've ridden in. I don't remember the brand name, but I can try to dig up the receipt and see where I ordered it from...

The guy that made my carpet glued carpet padding to the underside. I've glued similar padding to the back side of the interior plastic panels when I've had them out of the car. It greatly reduces creaking and road noise.
