Posted June 3, 201410 yr comment_449109 Just received and installed both twin Hitachi HJG46W on my 1972 Datsun 240z. Due to the fact that my car has a FAR 311 Race Cam the mechanic set the idle speed to 1,000 to 1,100 RPM. After installation the car seems to loose power when shifting from 1st to second gear. Do i need to adjust the idle adjust nut in the bottom of both carburetors? how many turns? June 3, 201410 yr comment_449121 Start at 2 turns down then drive and note how well it performs. Then come down 2 turns and test drive again. Repeat until you pass through a sweet spot. For each test make sure the same flow of air is going in each carb with a flow meter at 2000-3000rpm.
