May 6, 20159 yr comment_469261 I know it's a little late to chime in here, but i had mine taxed with a 5 speed, dosn't make any big difference, your saving will be less than shipping a transmission.FYI i have a 4 speed here, only keeping it because it is the matching tranny for the car Edited May 6, 20159 yr by ChrisZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49428-help-with-contact-craigslist-seattle/?&page=2#findComment-469261 Share on other sites
May 21, 20159 yr comment_470246 It's all relative, in markets outside of North America we got the 5 speed with early S30z's. We got a 5 speed Type A transmission in Australia. My 70 240z has had a later 5 speed box put in, but instead of butchering the console like your car has had done, they have (I assume) heated the gear lever up so they could bend it backward to clear the earlier transmission hole (which is further back than later S30z's). Hence part of the reason for the console change also in later S30z's. I don't know how things work in Denmark but I would assume that simply showing the 5 speed was an option in other markets would make no difference to getting the vehicle registered. In other words what I'm saying is, unless you want to keep your HSL30 car 'original' I wouldn't bother with the 4 speed box.
