inline4 Posted March 3, 2003 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2003 and how can you tell the tranny is good and a 5spd?
Ed Posted March 3, 2003 Share #2 Posted March 3, 2003 100 is good. You could find a more expensive one if you want. To see if it is in good condition tilt the tranny on it's side and remove the drain plug. It has a magnet attached to it. Inspect the magnet it should have a real fine metallic powder on it, small amounts are normal. Unusually large pieces of metal is not good. This will only tell you if the tranny has been abused. The real test is to install it and run it. To check if it's a five speed - attach the gear shift lever and go through the gears.

If you're in the fremont area try Dando's.
