Posted July 28, 201410 yr comment_452363 My mechanic informed me today that I need to replace the left inner tie rod end and jam nut for my '76 280z. Looked all over and can not find. Can anyone help?? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49711-need-280z-left-inner-tie-rod-end/ Share on other sites
July 28, 201410 yr comment_452366 A tough and common problem. The solution many choose is to put a right hand end on and change the tie rod to a right one as well. Both sides are exactly the same except for the thread. Just have to find an alignment person who can handle moving his wrench in two different directions to set the toe in. July 28, 201410 yr comment_452372 This is the only place that I know where you can get inner tie rod ends to replace the ones on our Z's.http://shop.rareparts.com/smtp/shopdisplaycategories.asp?iyear=1974&imake=0041|NISSAN&imodel=1009|260Z&iproduct=0049|STEERING, GEAR, PUMP & COMPONENTSI have used them and they provided an excellent upgrade to the 35 year old originals that I had on my rack. Once I located these I found the results of rebuilding my existing rack provided a far better end product than the "rebuilt" racks you can purchase on line.Mike.
