Posted August 5, 201410 yr comment_452783 Found this '73 240Z in Fort Myers. Has had lots of the right updates and restorations done. Curious if anyone has any knowledge of the car or seller (datsunxpz). Given that the seller appears to be a Datsun specialist based on his listings and 672 feedback scores I thought someone may have some insight.See anything concerning? This will be my first Z car and 40th birthday present to myself that I've saved up for 5 years to get so just trying to cover all of my bases. August 5, 201410 yr comment_452790 I agree with Carl, maybe something like this would be a better choice ?Datsun Z Series 240Z | eBay Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49770-ebay-1973-240z-finally-found-one-close-to-me/#findComment-452790 Share on other sites
August 5, 201410 yr comment_452795 I think you could find a better one too. I've got a set of triple Webers and have been advised to leave them off, they are a pain to get right and the original SUs are much more user friendly especially to somebody that's not familiar with carburetors, like me. Having a high pressure ZX fuel pump with Webers which only need around 3 lbs does not make sense to me. I think it would be a lot more tinkering than driving, not fun for your 1st Z. Here's #110 original paint, that one on E-bay looks more pinkish to me. My anxiousness has me widening the strike zone a bit more than is healthy I'd say. The search continues. Besides Carl, for references and support there is an active Z car club in the area:https://www.facebook.com/SunCentralZClubThat is so great to know. I've only lived in SF for about 1.5 years and therefore don't know the area well. I am interested in becoming involved just as soon as I can find my car. Appreciate all the comments and hopefully I'll have a new one to ask about soon. August 7, 201410 yr comment_452879 Perhaps joining a club first would help you find the "right" Z. At the least you'll meet a great bunch of people who all have "The DiZease". Best of luck on your search. August 7, 201410 yr comment_452885 Dale - that 71 in Pensacola sold quickly - as it should have at $7K. Seller said that the dash was great - if it was - crack free and damage free - the Dash was worth $2K.Good to know about Z met - but 6:30 puts you in the middle of rust hour traffic… how long do they plan to be there?Carl B. August 7, 201410 yr comment_452893 Hi Carl, meeting usually last at least 2 or 3 hours. Actually the drive is opposite the rush hour traffic, so it shouldn't be too bad.
