I also want to fix the dash, after reading the helpful topics in this forum It has a dash cap right now but I want to remove it and do the job right here are some photos of my Z Edited September 23, 20159 yr by George_Zed Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49817-hi-from-greece/?&page=2#findComment-477891 Share on other sites

September 23, 20159 yr comment_477898 Hey George, I've got the Nissan P/Ns for the heater hoses and valve. It all cost around $100 from my local dealership. Let me know if you want them. September 23, 20159 yr comment_477900 Hi George looks like you have a lovely 240Z there, keep us posted with your progress, I'm almost a neighbour too in the UK and I recently imported a 72 from Spokane WA, they're great cars! The hood release cable snapped on mine last week so I've ordered a new one from Zcardepot hopefully it will arrive this week. September 23, 20159 yr comment_477920 Air filters for your carburetors? If so, which ones do you have? I have the P/N for the stock oblong filter from Nissan, 16546-E3210, and K&N has a replacement filter. September 24, 20159 yr comment_477936 George, I don't think there ever were any filters in the heater system, so I'm confused... If you're thinking those floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl were filters, then you're incorrect. I think those are just for internal sealing of the duct doors and insulation, not filtering. Is that what you're talking about? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49817-hi-from-greece/?&page=2#findComment-477936 Share on other sites
September 24, 20159 yr Author comment_477946 ok, I guess I am wrong... I was referring to what Captain Obvious wrote... those floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl... nice description Captain can we find those anywhere? do I really need those? I guess I can use a universal foam in there just for the dust... September 24, 20159 yr comment_477958 Haha! Floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl! One of the Z specific stores might sell pre-cut replacements, but I haven't looked. I think most people just use regular hardware store foam and fabricate their own. As for if it's really necessary or not... It's nice for the doors to seal well when you have them in the desired positions., but not a deal breaker if you get a little leakage past them. If you're in that deep, I'd put something in there, but it doesn't have to be perfect? September 25, 20159 yr comment_477991 Sounds like a plan. I think there are a couple other threads already about people who have "re-foamed" their heater boxes. Search around a little and I bet you can turn up some ideas.
