Posted August 20, 201410 yr comment_453817 Hi I did a search but couldn't find exaclty what I was looking for.First, I see that I can buy braided hose at quite a bit more expensive than the regular formed Rad and heater hoses. Is the braided hose significantly better or is the braiding for originality?Second I had a leak on my Manifold Heater Hose, (Rear Intake Manifold to Rear Tube, on a 1972 240Z), I took it off and it looks to be 1/2" diameter, is that right or is it 5/8"Thanks!Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49887-rad-heater-hose-quality-and-a-size-question/ Share on other sites
August 20, 201410 yr comment_453835 Steve, the braided hose is for originality only, I think I paid $10 for my knock offs and they are good quality. The rear tube on my 72Z is 1/2" dia.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/49887-rad-heater-hose-quality-and-a-size-question/#findComment-453835 Share on other sites

August 21, 201410 yr comment_453852 My braided radiator hoses seemed sort of thin. Forget where I got them. Nissan sells nice ones, not braided though. wirecare.com has braided sleeving. I put their black braided sleeving on my Nissan radiator hoses, and on some fuel lines by the tank. It looks ok and may protect them, but now I see on their site that they also have a gray, flat filament type that looks better IMO, and more like original.
