6pak Posted September 8, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2014 Hello again, my 1980 280z has a burbling (slowish) noise coming from the overflow tank. the car runs fine and does not overheat, doesn't seem to be using water either, is this normal?the oil is not grey or murky and radiator itself is full. im just wondering if there is a bit of air in the system?any ideas would be appreciated.thanksChris
240260280z Posted September 8, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2014 Does the water in the rad bubble if you start the car cold with the rad cap off?Pressure in the coolant system can only be caused by heat or head gasket leak.
6pak Posted September 8, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 8, 2014 Hi, no bubbles with cap off. Water level just slowly rises up and overflows out of radiator. It's got me scratchn my head. Cheers
olzed Posted September 8, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 8, 2014 Sounds like a head gasket on the way out to me.
