Nissan has a great Motorsport history in Australia.

A passing reference is made to the Datsun rally program in Mike's post above. Datsun won numerous Australian rally championships, three of them with the Z in the hands of Ross Dunkerton. It was the rally success of the 1600 (510) and then with the factory 240 and 260 Zs that established Datsun/Nissan as a major rallying and then circuit racing manufacturer participant.

I have reproduced the Shannon's link from Mike's post. It could have easily been passed over and really captures the Nissan contribution to Australian circuit racing. It would be great to find some of the earlier Z history in the Australian Rally Championships.
