September 11, 201410 yr comment_455232 I don't know Blue, I think I would talk anyone away from points, just for the reason you stated. Reliability - especially high rpm== which can equal performance. Less moving parts is always a good thing .Stronger spark helps with lean conditions where the burn rate is slower.Electronic ignition to me has always been considered a performance upgrade with respect to points. September 14, 201410 yr Author comment_455416 Worked great except for my 280z tach. I did everything as I was supposed to ,but maybe the tach is shot. It pegs out. I did try the 10K Ohm resistor too. I'll do a search for the autometer tach. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50027-zx-dist-in-240z/?&page=2#findComment-455416 Share on other sites
September 15, 201410 yr Author comment_455457 Figured out the tach redlining problem. It was a loose resistor in the tach circuit board. All good now.
