Do i need to replace the rear suspension springs? Car too low in the rear?

i could be wrong, but I think you will find that they are slightly different - besides after 40 odd years, won't they be worn as well ?

There are two types of 260Z's. One uses 240Z suspensions, the other uses 280Z suspension. The dimensions of the springs are in the FSM, in the two Suspension chapters. Measure your "new" springs and see which ones you got. The rear ones are not interchangeable, for sure, so if you got the 280Z style you'll need to keep looking.

One way to raise the back of your Z would be to get 280Z strut insulators. They sit at the top of the strut and the 280Z insulators are taller than the 240Z's. Not a great way to do it, but if you can't get the springs it might get you by.

If I were you I would cancel the order. There is a .5 inch difference between the early model and late model springs for the front. Been there done that. Not sure on the back. The 74 springs also have a different spring rate.

There are also two different spring perch heights on the 260z. You have to measure from the base of the tube where it joins the spindle,to the lowest point of the perch.Usually where the end of the spring end seats into the perch.The early model measures 9.25", the late model measures 9.75".This was how I came up with the difference in spring heights.

Sorry I didn't want to confuse anyone. I had to find my notes going back to 2002.

When i installed a late model spring perch with Motorsports springs the ride height was 0.5" to high. Hard lesson to learn.
