October 13, 201410 yr comment_456940 I had these same louvers on my 1st Z and that's the correct key. You should be able to make a key pretty easily. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50208-interpart-louver-key/#findComment-456940 Share on other sites
October 13, 201410 yr comment_456946 I made one out of a piece of radiator hose clamp with a sement ground off in a bench grinder so that two ears stick out. Hope that made sense. October 13, 201410 yr comment_456975 You're welcome. If you make one try and use a fairly hard piece of steel so it won't twist too easily. I hit my key with a file and it barely made a mark, maybe use a flat piece of spring steel.Good luck. October 13, 201410 yr comment_456978 My lower side mounts (with the lock) have been damaged by a previous owner using a screw driver. Anyone have any suggestions on how to restore or replace them? Can't seem to find interpart louver parts anywhere. October 13, 201410 yr comment_456984 My louvers are not currently on the car, as I am planning to clean them up and sell or trade them. Now is as good a time as any, so I'm just starting to disassemble the locks for cleanup. I will report back with what I find.Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50208-interpart-louver-key/#findComment-456984 Share on other sites
October 13, 201410 yr comment_456985 Here are couple of pics of the Interpart lock assembled and disassembled. I am currently learning how to use Solid Works and I'm getting tired of doing tutorials so if it would help to have a 3D cad model/drawing for any of the lock parts I don't mind doing it as a learning experience. Let me if this is of interest and which parts are broken on your locks. These are plastic parts so maybe they could be 3D printed if the resolution is high enough. Now that I have cleaned out the fine dirt from the locks it surprising how much better they function. October 21, 201410 yr comment_457404 My Z had a louver, I think it was an Interpart but don't remember. I took it off because it scratched the glass. The scratch is still there. October 25, 201410 yr Author comment_457703 I found someone who is making the keys for Firebird louvers and ordered one. Got it today. How is that key supposed to fit into the louver lock?
