Well, if you are reading this, you're now using our new website design!  Welcome to the new look of The Classic Zcar Club.  I just wanted to take a moment and let all of you know this latest project has been an extreme labor of love.  After testing this over the last several months, I've been able to migrate all of our data within a period of just a few days.  While there is still more work to be done, the website is now ready for you guys to jump back in with both feet.

All of our data has been migrated.  If you are looking for something that was in our old site, please give me another few days to bring it online.  All of the data is here, but, most of it has been disabled for viewing until I have a chance to go through and formalize the permissions.

The old site is still online, you can see it at this URL:  http://legacy.classiczcars.com

In the next few days I'll be working to bring you all of the things you have been used to seeing on our site.  Feel free to reply to this message with your questions or concerns.  Thanks again for your patience and enjoy the site!

Mike

Maybe just have a field for year and not the month and date. It is when someone hacks the site that the data is lost and it is too late. It is better not to have this data as it is tied to SSN and banking.

There are a few options, I'm looking into either hiding it completely or, like you suggested, show only a year.  Stay tuned.. :)

There are many posts in this very thread about that issue.  Seems to be an Internet Explorer conflict with the new forum software.  Chrome works.

My bad.  I should have read through the 5 pages of posts in this thread before assuming that the prior bugs pointed out would have been fixed by now.  Thanks for the Chrome tip.

Mike,

So how do I make this work like the previous software? It really seems like it is based on the number of posts. I don't block or delete any cookies that I know of. This thread is long enough that it gives me the button but a thread with less than a page of posts doesn't seem to know I have read the first 9 posts. Also on a different note the search box at the top is hard to read. Recently I placed the cursor there and it was blinking but nearly invisible due to size and contrast.

Thanks for your work on the upgrade

Charles

In the quoted text - the tiny italic font, that can't be changed in the editing window, and the darker blue background doesn't work at all.  Just looks odd and is hard to read.  Any way to just box it, enlarge it, and remove the color?

Just changed the quote colors to match our old site.  Not sure if there's a good reason to enlarge it because the quote would overwhelm the response.  I did remove the italic if you think that would help.  Why do you want everything larger?  Do you need glasses?   :P  j/k

I also just spoke to someone and they told me that any browser supports the CTRL-+ option to enable zoom.  COMMAND-+ on the Mac.

Hey Charles, can you reply here with a screenshot of the feature you are talking about from the old site?  I can't seem to follow your idea.  The change sounds good if I can see an example and find the code.

Mike,

I will try to clarify this. I went to the legacy site to find an unread thread so I could be exact, but everything there shows as read. I wouldn't know how to do a screen shot if my life depended on it. On the old site I would read on a regular basis, then be gone for a month or two. When I came back I would view all unread posts . Then I would load each thread to a new tab and read the interesting ones. That would clear out the cache. In each thread it would give a "read first unread" no matter how short the thread was. Currently the best I can figure, I only get the "view first unread" when there is more than one page of posts. On all other threads I have to challenge my ever increasingly fragile memory by trying to figure out which post is the first unread. However I haven't seen many people chime in on having the same issue, so I am hoping it is not on my end.

I assume the comments on the search box were clear..

Thanks, Charles

Mike, I like the italics removal from the quoted text. (I had to include some quote part of your message just because).
