Dropping Rear Suspension / Spindle Pins

Unfortunately no. In order to replace the outer bushings of the control arms the pins have to come out. There are plenty of threads dedicated to the misery of doing this including mine titled Spindle Pin Woes. You might get lucky but very few of us have been. Keep us posted on your progress!

I am currently starting the rear end re-assembly on my 77.  Started with the intention of just installing an RT mount.  It evolved into a complete rear suspension re-build. I figured might as well since It was all apart anyway. My spindles came out without too much pain, not an easy pop out or anything like that,  just a lot of hammer tapping, heat, PB Blaster and a drift bolt. Not sure that I needed to do the spindles but I'm glad I did. Blues tech tips helped a lot.    http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/  Control arm bushings on the driver side was a different story, rusted on.

Good Luck

Well I got down there tonight and removed the nuts and other hardware from the passenger side, and the bushings actually look perfect. All the spindle pin hardware looks really nice and shiny and rust free, but I've decided I'm not even going to bother. Just doing springs and struts and leaving all the rear end bushings alone for now.

I gave the pin a light pull just to test, not that easy, but it appears they won't be the worst ones around.
