I was more curious than anything, it seem to be negelected.

I have used diodes in the past to reduce the back emf. Don't know if they still call it that these days. I know diodes are less reliable, but I have never had one fail on me yet.

Maybe I should have said "normal" instead of "servicable" relay since most relays don't have this voltage spike limiting function.

I believe the resistor is between 600 - 800 ohm which wouln't draw much anyway.

If you just wanted to install a couple pigtails for the relay control now, but will be adding the relays in later, where would be a good place to put those in?

TomoHawk, Not sure what you're asking... What do you mean with the above? I'm probably just dense, but can you ask your question a different way?

If you wanted to add fog lamps or driving lamps, which should only come on with the headlights, you need two switched +12V lies from the headlamp switch to power some relays.  where would a good place to get the switch +12V?  You would put in one or two extra wires that would operate the relays for the extra lamps.

I'm following this old thread and wonder if anyone of you ever attempted to modernize the bulky resistors in a modern car relay box as you did with the headlight relays?

ryn004,

What's the purpose for? Is there any advantage?

Adding headlight relay close to battery will increase  brightness of headlight. Same to starter relay.

But, I don't see any advantage to re-wiring fuel pump, EFI relay.
